At a glance
Instructional Pulse is a staff-facing tool for classroom walkthroughs, coaching and school improvement plans. Districts own their data. We act as a school official under FERPA and process data only to provide the service.
What We Collect
- Staff names, work emails, roles, schools and schedules provided by the district.
- Walkthrough ratings, notes, coaching meetings, goals and improvement plans entered by staff.
- Files staff choose to attach to coaching meetings, if the district allows uploads.
- Sign-in and activity records needed for security and the audit log.
Student Information
Pulse is designed to keep student information out. Notes boxes remind staff to use initials and warn when text looks like a student name or ID. If student information is entered, it is protected as an education record and handled under the district's agreement.
How We Use Data
Only to provide and improve the service for the district. We never sell data, never use it for targeted advertising, never build profiles for non-school purposes and never use it to train AI models.
AI Features
AI Insights are off until a district admin accepts the AI terms. Names of staff and schools are replaced with placeholders before anything is sent, and the provider is asked not to store requests.
Your Rights
Staff can ask their district to see, correct or delete their records. Districts track these requests in Pulse and respond within 30 days. Parents and eligible students exercise FERPA rights through the district.
Retention and Deletion
Districts choose how long to keep data. When a contract ends, the district can export everything, and we delete all district data, files and sign-in accounts and issue a deletion certificate.
